JDC Challenge darts rules explained
The JDC Challenge comes from the Junior Darts Corporation and tests everything a darts player needs over 19 rounds: scoring, doubles and consistency. The highest score at the end wins.
- 19 rounds in three parts
- At most 3380 points
- Also works alone as practice
How to play
- Part 1 (rounds 1 to 6) is Shanghai on 10 to 15: one number per round, points = number × multiplier. Single, double and triple of the number in one visit earn a 100 point bonus, but no instant win.
- Part 2 (rounds 7 to 13) are the doubles: one double per dart in order, D1, D2, D3 in the first visit up to D19, D20 and the bull in the last. Every hit scores 50 points, the bull 100.
- Part 3 (rounds 14 to 19) is Shanghai on 15 to 20 like part 1.
- Then the highest score wins; on a tie there is a bull shoot-out.
Variants
- The app plays the JDC Challenge exactly like this, without further options.
JDC Challenge example
Round 1 is the 10: if Anna hits 10, D10 and T10 she gets 10 + 20 + 30 = 60 points plus a 100 bonus, 160 in total. In part 2 every double hit scores 50 points, the bull at the end 100.
JDC Challenge tips
- Part 2 decides a lot: D1 to D20 and the bull are worth up to 1100 points together.
- In the Shanghai parts the bonus pays off: single, double and triple score more than three trebles.
- Good as a regular test: note your score and see how you improve.
