New: the tournament site Beta

At turnier.dartscorer.online you can now create and run your own darts tournaments, free and without signing up. The tournament site is still in beta: a few things may not work perfectly yet, and some may still change.

Found a bug or have an idea? Write to me at info@dartscorer.online.

  • Four formats: knockout, double elimination, round robin or a group stage followed by a knockout round, played in X01 or Cricket, with legs or sets
  • Set up in a few steps: enter players, choose the format and legs per round, draw or seed; players can still be added later or withdrawn by walkover
  • Bracket, tables, schedule and final standings with a podium for all players and spectators, on phones too; with “I am …” you see right away when it is your turn
  • Play right in the app: open a match in DartScorer via link or QR code; result, statistics and match history come back automatically
  • Boards and markers: free boards automatically get the next match, with a preview of the one after and a suggested marker; with a board link the device at the board fetches its matches by itself
  • “Now playing” shows which matches are running on which board, with the current score and a link to the live display
  • TV view for the wall: rotating panels with boards, schedule, results, table and statistics; connect the TV with a code and control it from your phone, optionally with one match big in the spotlight
  • Statistics and leaderboards across the whole tournament, for example average, highest checkout and 180s
  • Print or PDF: a schedule to fill in with QR code, results with statistics and match sheets that fill themselves in for matches played in the app
  • Share via link, QR code, WhatsApp or email invitation
  • Listed or link only: optionally protected with a password as well
  • Manage without an account: a secret management link lets you enter results and change the tournament; we can email it to you if you like

The interactive seating plan of Alexandra Palace shows you where your seats are at the World Darts Championship. Enter your tickets, see block, row and seat, check the view of the stage in the 3D walkthrough and share your seats with friends.

Help out: if you report your actual seats, the plan gets more and more accurate, especially in the curves of blocks A and C.

  • Enter tickets or simply paste the text from your ticket confirmation or a fan-to-fan offer
  • Block, row and seat on the seating plan, including the floor tables
  • 3D walkthrough: what is the view of the stage from your seat?
  • Share seats via link so everyone sees where you are sitting
  • Your tickets stay with you: they are only processed in your browser
  • German and English

The new version 2.0 is live

DartScorer has been completely reworked: new design, new game modes, statistics and much more. Version 2.0 replaces the previous version, which has been switched off. Old addresses such as renes.dartscorer.online lead to the new version automatically.

I am happy about any feedback, right in the app via “Give feedback” or by email to info@dartscorer.online.

  • New design with light and dark mode, input via keypad, total or dartboard
  • Six game modes: X01, Cricket, Around the Clock, Shanghai, Killer and Fox Hunt
  • Statistics for every game and for your previous games
  • New bot with five skill levels that scatters like a real player
  • German and English: interface, announcements and voice input in both languages
  • Improved voice input and output, special announcements for 180, miss and bust
  • Faster live display: simply connect a TV with a code
  • Installable as an app and starts without internet too
  • Selective import / export: players, settings, statistics or the current game as a file, via QR code or through the server to your next device

Offline & data

What works offline and what does not

In its core features DartScorer stores nothing on a server. Some extra features do need an internet connection and exchange data with servers.

Offline, only on your device

  • Keeping score in all six game modes
  • Playing against the bot
  • Statistics for the current and previous games
  • Players, settings and game history, stored in your browser’s storage
  • Backing up and transferring your data as a file or via QR code or link

After the first visit the web app also starts without an internet connection, most conveniently as an app installed on your home screen.

With a connection to servers

  • Live display: player data and game history are sent to the display devices via the DartScorer server, also when connecting a TV with a code.
  • Transfer via the server (import / export): the selected data stays on the DartScorer server for one hour and is then deleted automatically.
  • Voice input: it uses your browser’s speech recognition. Depending on the browser, the recording is sent to the vendor’s servers, for example to Google with Chrome or to Microsoft with Edge.
  • Score announcements: depending on the selected voice, online voices of the browser vendor may be used.
  • Tournament site and tournament matches: tournaments with player names and results are stored on the DartScorer server. If you play a tournament match in the app, the result, statistics and match history are sent there. Emails with tournament links or invitations go out through our email provider; the addresses are not stored.
  • Give feedback: your message is sent to the DartScorer server.
  • Loading and updating the web app: all files come from the DartScorer server; no external providers are involved.

How it started

A dartboard at the office, an old tablet and no app that simply worked.

At our company a dartboard was put up in the office to boost motivation. The idea quickly came up to use an old, unused tablet for keeping score. Unfortunately the tablet was so old that no current apps could be installed on it any more.

So we tried lots of apps on our phones and tablets. They had to be installed first, and many were not really convincing. Many required signing up, and some even cost money.

So I simply built my own web app for keeping darts scores. It did not run on the old tablet either, for lack of suitable JavaScript support, but that is how DartScorer.Online came about, and the app is now open to everyone.
