Halve-It darts rules explained
Halve-It demands accuracy on changing targets: nine rounds in a fixed order, and anyone who misses a round’s target completely loses half their points.
- 9 rounds with fixed targets
- No hit = points halved
- Start with 40 or 0 points
How to play
- The targets in order: 15, 16, any double, 17, 18, any triple, 19, 20, bull.
- Hits on the round’s target score number × multiplier, for example triple 17 = 51, D12 in the double round = 24, the bull 25 or 50.
- If you miss the target with every dart of a visit, your points are halved (rounded down).
- After round 9 the highest score wins. On a tie only the leaders keep throwing: a bull shoot-out, without halving.
Variants
- Starting points: 40 points (standard) or 0 points.
Halve-It example
Anna starts with 40 points. In the 15 round she hits T15 and 15 - 60 points, now 100. In the 16 round she misses every 16: her points are halved, leaving her with 50.
Halve-It tips
- One hit is enough to avoid halving - secure the round before going for trebles.
- The “any double” and “any triple” rounds are the riskiest: aim for segments you hit well.
- The more points you have, the more a miss costs - when ahead, play it safe.
